Answers to common questions about Split Circle.
- Is Split Circle really free?
- Yes. The free plan has no expense limits, no ads, and no daily caps. You can add as many groups and expenses as you want at no cost. Pro ($2.99/month) adds receipt scanning with OCR, premium themes, and priority email support.
- Do my friends need to create an account?
- No. The person who creates the group needs an account. Everyone else joins via a link: no sign-up required, no app download needed. They can view balances and mark debts settled without ever creating a profile.
- Does it work without internet?
- Yes. Add expenses offline and they sync automatically when you reconnect. Your data stays on your device and uploads once a connection is available.
- How do I settle up?
- Mark debts as settled directly in the app. Split Circle supports any payment method you agree on: bank transfer, cash, UPI, Venmo, PayPal, or anything else. The app tracks who owes what; how you pay is up to you.
- Can I split bills unequally?
- Yes. You can split equally, by exact amounts, by percentage, or proportionally by income or shares. Each expense can use a different split method.
- What currencies are supported?
- All major currencies are supported. Groups can include expenses in multiple currencies; Split Circle converts everything to your group's default currency using live exchange rates.
- How do I delete my account?
- Go to Settings, then Account, then Delete Account. All your data is permanently removed within 30 days. You can export your expense history before deleting.
- What is Pro and how much does it cost?
- Pro costs $2.99/month (or ₹149/month in India). It adds receipt photo scanning with OCR so you can snap a receipt and have the amount filled in automatically, premium themes, and priority email support with faster response times.
